Minutes of Quarterly Meeting
October 18, 2011

Board members present were Linda Harden, Robert and Debbie Powell, George Cook, Harry Hurt and Jody Slocum.  A total of 56 members were present.

Minutes from the previous meeting and the current Treasurer’s report were approved.

OLD BUSINESS

There was no old business to discuss.

REPORTS - DNR

Wade Law has been promoted to Captain and will be assuming new duties.  Capt. Jeff Swift, Regional Supv., introduced the team working our area as follows:  Sgt. Danny Bishop, Cpl. Tommy Lawrence, Cpl. Clint Martin, Cpl. Al Greer, and Cpl. Ronnie Beard.  Capt. Swift was extremely complimentary of the job Wade has done and promised that enforcement on the lake would be consistent with the past.

NEW BUSINESS –

Richard Hall with the Lake Blackshear Waterfowl Organization spoke in support of their efforts since 2004 to improve participation and conditions around the Lake.  To improve wildlife habitats, they have built 400 wood duck boxes.  They also sponsor efforts to create outdoor adventures and exercises for children and have a youth day for kids to hunt.  In addition, they sponsor a Wounded Warrior hunt.  Richard asked for anyone interested in supporting the organization to contact him @ 229-322-5502.

 Connie Carney spoke in support of the Christmas Lights on the Flint Boat and Dock parade to be held on December 17, 2011.  It starts at 6:00 PM from Cedar Creek and proceeds to the Marina at the Cypress Grill.  There is an entrance fee payable to the Crisp Area Arts Alliance, so please contact Connie @ 229-273-5151 or Faye Webb @ 229-276-1430 for more information.

 Jerry Carney representing the Crisp Chamber of Commerce requested support of the upcoming vote on E-SPLOST.  He noted that early voting started Oct. 17^th.

 With no further business, the meeting adjourned to enjoy the meal catered by the Retreat.
